Join Us for the AT Society’s Family Weekend
The Family Weekend is one of the most important and cherished events in the AT Society’s calendar – and we’d love for you and your loved ones to be part of it. This special gathering welcomes children and adults living with AT (or a variant of AT), along with their families, carers, and friends, whether you’re based in the UK, Ireland, or further afield. Professionals with an interest in AT are also warmly invited to attend and connect with our community.
This is a great opportunity to meet up with other families from all over the UK and abroad. Talking to other people in a similar situation is helpful and being able to discuss ideas and just chat informally is invaluable.
We hold this event at various venues around the country. We use a fully accessible hotel with accessible bedrooms and wet rooms. We try to be near good rail, road and airport links. The AT Society will always try to subsidise the cost of attending the event as we want to encourage everyone to attend.
Parents and carers can listen to speakers on various subjects, for example,the latest research and clinical trials into AT, a question and answer session with the specialist doctors, therapy advice and practical issues such as benefits and education. We provide full entertainment and supervision for the children during the day and organise an outing for them. We usually have an evening meal where everyone can get together and chat informally.
