At the heart of the AT Society is a compassionate and knowledgeable Support Team, here for every individual and family affected by AT. Whether you’re newly diagnosed, facing day-to-day challenges, or seeking advice on care, education, or benefits – our team is here to help.
Kay Atkins – Head of Services Kay leads the team with dedication and warmth, ensuring that our support is tailored, accessible, and responsive to the needs of the AT community.
Anne Murray – Advocacy and Support Manager Anne focuses on ensuring families have a voice in the decisions that affect them, advocating for better care and championing the rights of those living with AT.
Emma Lukins – Advocacy and Support Coordinator Emma works directly with families, offering practical advice and emotional support, and helping people navigate the systems and services available to them.
Together, they provide a lifeline – offering expert guidance, heartfelt support, and a deep understanding of the journey with AT. No question is too small, and no challenge is faced alone.
🏠 Family Support The team is here for families every step of the way – whether it’s a phone call to talk through a concern or a home visit to offer support in person. They provide a listening ear, practical guidance, and reassurance when it’s needed most.
🩺 Clinic Support The team also plays a key role in arranging and attending AT clinics. They’re there in person to offer guidance, answer questions, and ensure families feel supported throughout their visit. Their presence helps bridge the gap between clinical care and everyday life, making sure no one feels alone on their journey.
🏫 School Visits Understanding AT can be challenging for educators – that’s why the Support Team also visits schools to help staff better understand the condition and the unique needs of pupils with AT. These visits help create more inclusive, informed, and supportive learning environments.
