These interactive sessions will offer plenty of opportunities for questions and discussion. Kindly note that Friday’s sessions are exclusively for those aged 18 and over.

17.30 – 18.05. Metabolism and management of energy levels using diet in AT

Dr Kim Chow will talk you through new research looking at metabolism in AT, focusing on how AT results in an increased likelihood of insulin resistance and diabetes, and Dr Sarah Durnan will explain how we can adapt diets and food choices to help manage symptoms of fatigue and help to prevent development of conditions such as cardiovascular disease and fatty liver.

18.05-18.30. Can physiotherapy work for you?

Dr Lisa Bunn's session will explain what the new guidelines for rehabilitation of chronic conditions mean for AT, and will discuss ways that physiotherapy could work for you.

18.30 - 18.55. What do we know about the health effects of being a carrier of an AT mutation?

Professor Yossi Shiloh will talk about the latest research findings about being an AT carrier (due to be published in late 2025)
