WHAT WE DO

The A-T Society is the only organisation in the UK which supports people affected by A-T and funds research into treating and ultimately eliminating the condition.

The Society:
  • provides information via a range of media – publications, website, phone contact, newsletters etc. to families affected by A-T, professionals, schools and the public
  • provides practical support, guidance and advocacy through a professional family support worker, support grants and access to a counsellor and specialist physiotherapist and occupational therapist
  • organises information and support events, including family days, activity weekends and respite holidays and
  • in partnership with the NHS set up and now jointly administers national specialist clinics at Nottingham and Papworth
  • Funds research and supports researchers looking into the cause and cure of A-T
